Meet the Owners

The Stephen Family
Wanting to spend more time with their young children, Misti searched for a way to have the "Best" of both worlds. She wanted to help with the family budget and still be able to watch their children grow and be a big part of their memories. Choosing the childcare profession not only met these goals, it has also allowed her to watch her children interact with others, both academically and socially.

Misti has operated a violation-free, in-home daycare for the past 3 1/2 years and has earned a reputation in her area for the high quality care she provides to her families. She has accumulated a waiting list of families wanting to bring their children to her home, but space was limited.
Building a solid foundation, one memory at a time......
Misti wanted to touch the lives of many children and have the opportunity to help with the foundation of memories as they relate to each one of them. This inspired her and her husband Darrick to begin their search for a building that would allow her to expand. This is what led to the conception and reality of "Childhood Memories Daycare".

UPDATE!! 2009

After owning and operating a center for nearly 3 years, Misti realized that finding staff who were as dedicated and committed to children as she always had been was a very difficult task. Misti was no longer able to be an active participant in the lives of the children under her care, but was now responsible for management and the tasks associated with running a business. She really missed being with the children, experiencing the lives of the children, and enjoying the daily smiles the children brought to her life. She slowly realized that owning a center was not what she was meant to do with her life. Although the center was very successful with 140 children and 23 staff members, she knew that she needed to get back to working directly with children. After her mother passed away in the Fall of 2008, Misti felt it was time to get back to simple life and the things that made her happy.... being with the children. The center was sold on December 31, 2008 and Misti and her sister-in-law Christy moved Childhood Memories to a group daycare home. Many families wanted to move from the center with Misti, but sadly there were not enough spots. Only 12 were able to make the transition with Misti to her home.

Childhood Memories Group Daycare Home is ran just as it was at the center. The same schedules, activities, curriculum, philosophies, and standards are continued just in a new environment. Misti likes to think of her daycare as the "best of both worlds". It is perfect for those parents looking for the structure, stability and security a center provides as well as for parents who want their children in a smaller more intimate environment. Parents enrolled in Childhood Memories get both!
